Stew Leonards has been around Fairfield County longer but Trader Joes has a wider presence across America. Fairfield County has them both. Both are innovative grocers. I like the focus on entertainment and culture at Stew Leonards. At Trader Joes, I like store themes and offerings aimed at health and flavor treats. What similarities and differences do you see? What do you like about each? Feel free to comment.

I agree, there are some similarities.
For most consumers, neither can totally replace the traditional supermarket, but both provide a more entertaining/interesting shopping experience than the standard A&P or S&S. They also offer numerous local products and products produced by small independent companies. My impression is that Trader Joe’s is substantially less expensive than Stew Leonards and that generally, that’s the difference that would be most significant for consumers.
